Local woman left frustrated after Premier League referees fail to assemble IKEA furniture

A local woman has been left frustrated after Premier League referees made an absolute hames of assembling her newly purchased IKEA furniture.

Susan Susansson (28) ordered a number of items, including a wardrobe and bookshelves, from the Swedish retailer to furnish her new apartment.

“I’m rubbish at DIY” said Susansson. “I found the ad for PGMOL Handy Men online. Their rates were massively expensive, so I assumed they must be good.”

When PGMOL arrived at Susansson’s apartment she was shocked to see a team of six men.

“They were all dressed in bright yellow shirts and black shorts, and for some reason they all had headsets. One got to work on the furniture while two more ran up and down the room holding flags. It was bizarre.

The other three unloaded a bunch of laptops and monitors in my kitchen. They said they were there to review any controversial assembly decisions, but they did nothing except eat all my biscuits.”

After spending 90 minutes in Susansson’s apartment the team called it a day, leaving bits of wood jammed randomly together and most of the components still in boxes.

“They kept high-fiving and saying good process, boys,” said Susansson. “The furniture was beyond repair. I had to order replacements from IKEA.”

Howard Webb, head of PGMOL, later emailed Susansson defending his team by stating that IKEA’s instructions were to blame. No compensation was offered.
