Audience member kicked out of World Darts Championship for being too sober

An audience member at the World Darts Championship currently taking place at Alexandra Palace in London has been ejected from the venue for being too sober.

Darren ‘Daz Automatic’ Jenkins (34) was in attendance last night for the evening semi-final session featuring darts superstar Luke Littler when disaster struck.

“I went with The Banter Boys – Bantersaurus Rex and The Archbishop of Banterbury – top lads.” said Jenkins. “They were Mario and Luigi and wanted me to dress up as Princess Peach, but I wasn’t having that. I just went in shirt and jeans. The security lads were eyeing me up from the off.”

Things went from bad from worse for Jenkins when The Banter Boys started laying into the pints, as is the Ally Pally tradition.

“I couldn’t drink nothing, I’m on bloody antibiotics for an infection. The doc knew I was going down Ally Pally and warned me not to touch a drop, so I stayed on the cokes.”

Bar staff at the venue reported Jenkins to security as they were concerned that he was only purchasing mixers without any attendant alcoholic pairing.

“Two security lads took me aside and asked if I was sober. I told them I was and then they asked why I wasn’t in fancy dress. I tried to explain but they weren’t having any of it. Some fucking night that was.”

Jenkins told DTTN that he’s now lost all interest in darts and will instead apply himself to shouting inappropriately at quieter venues for snooker and tennis.
