Country superstar Garth Brooks is in the midst of a five night residency at Croke Park. And Data Scientists from UCD are predicting that the singer will be sending fans home with more than a smile and a Stetson.
With 400,000 fans in attendance, the gigs are the nation’s greatest collective event since Pope John Paul II graced The Phoenix Park in 1979. The Pope’s visit resulted in a spike in child births nine months later, and according to UCD boffins the summer of 2023 could see similar results.
“The level of love for Brooks is off the chart, it’s almost a religious mania,” said a researcher. “People are travelling from all over the country to reach transcendence with their idol. And when they leave Croker that energy will have to be channelled into something. That’s why we’re predicting high levels of hotel room activity.”
“June 2023 is going to be a busy time for the nation’s maternity hospitals,” said a UCD Professor. “All the Garth fans will have done the dance with each other, and had their friends in low places get intimately acquainted. You just know they ain’t goin’ down ‘til the sun comes up.”
DTTN reached out to several Garth Brooks fans for comment, but none were picking up their phones.
