A local man has started up a new enterprise bottling the sunshine from our current good weather and selling it to eager punters.
Derek Trader (56) who dabbles in a bit of this, a bit of that, you know yourself, chanced upon the idea as a way to shift a consignment of mason jars that had been clogging up his garage for the past six months.
“I’d got the jars at a discount, but no one wanted them,” said Trader. “I just took them out the back garden, let that beautiful sunshine in and viola; Irish Gold. It’ll keep people going when it gets cold and wet again.”
Trader assures DTTN that Irish Gold is 100% vegan friendly, gluten free and organic.
“It’s not cut with gluten or gelatine or any shite like that. It’s just pure sunshine.”
And customers are already flocking to stock up on the premium sunshine product.
“I bought one for everyone in my family,” said one satisfied punter. “It’s going to start raining again soon but we’ll have the Irish Gold at hand to give us a warm glow inside.”
Trader has not been able to keep up with demand and has enquired with his contact if he can get his hands on some more mason jars. Large chains like Dunnes, SuperValu and even Brown Thomas are understood to have registered an interest.
“Everyone wants to taste the gold,” said Trader as he sold DTTN four jars worth.
